Notifications for your monitors
What are Alerts?
Alerts are notifications that can be sent through emails, SMS or Webhooks. Check the integrations section for more information. Alerts are only generated for certain events.
Here are some advanced use cases for alerts.
Website Downtime Alerts
You can receive alerts by first setting up a monitor on your server. For a website or web application create an HTTP monitor. You can select the contacts you want to send website downtime alerts to while adding the monitor. Use the steps described below to enable it for existing monitors.
Server Down Alert
A port monitor can be used to track a publicly open port for downtime. Pinger Man will try to create a TCP connection to the server to ensure it is accessible from outside your network. Server down alert will be sent if the port is not accessible from 3 or more locations.

Alerts must be enabled for every monitor. To enable alerts for a monitor follow these steps.
- Goto the Monitors Area by selecting it from the left sidebar
- Click your Monitor to open the details expander
- From the Alerts tab, check all the contacts you want to receive notifications for this monitor
Disabling Alerts
To disable alerts for a monitor follow these steps.
- Goto the Monitors Area by selecting it from the left sidebar
- Click your Monitor to open the details expander
- From the Alerts tab, un-check all the contacts you don't want to disable alerts for this monitor.
